Redox Reactions

Redox reactions describe the transfer of electrons between chemical species through oxidation and reduction processes. They form the fundamental mechanism behind energy conversion, sensing, and environmental transformations in electrochemical systems.

Electrochemical Systems

Electrochemical systems convert redox reactions into usable electrical signals or energy by separating oxidation and reduction at distinct electrodes. They include both spontaneous systems (fuel cells, MFCs) and driven systems (electrolysis, electrochemical reactors).
